This snazzy hardback has over 650 cocktail recipes in it along with mini ads for the spirits and liqueurs that Plotkin thinks you should use. The inclusion of plugs for particular cocktail components is slightly unsettling, as one’s mind can’t help but wonder, “Were these chosen because they are the best or because their producers paid the author to have them included in the volume? Or do both criteria come into play?” Anyhoo, we couldn’t divine the answer in our flip through the book.
