2/2007 BOOK REVIEW: KYLE JARRARD, COGNAC: THE SEDUCTIVE SAGA OF THE WORLD’S MOST COVETED SPIRIT (NJ: JOHN WILEY & SONS, 2005)
Doh- back in 2005 we posted a glowing review of this handsome book. Somehow, wethinks in the course of switching to a new file posting system, we LOST the review. To add bummer upon bummer, we could not locate the original copy. (We suspect it is burned on a CD ROM that is in our increasingly jammed office… somewhere.)

Anyhoo, since we can’t repost the old review, let’s just say this of Mr. Jarrard’s book: it’s a fine read, well written by a man who has spent many years producing polished prose. (Jarrard is a senior editor at the International Herald Tribune and
the author of a couple novels.) In 232 pages, Jarrard deftly covers the waterfront on this topic, offering an engaging narrative that spans the years and gives the reader a solid history of cognac. (Rating ****1/2)
