So a friend came by on July 4th with a bottle in hand. He asked us not to look at the label. So, we poured the bubbly and sipped it blindly. Mmmm, tight little bubbles, light biscuit note, no off-flavors. A nice Champagne, right? Nope, it’s GRUET from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Amazing, we tasted this last summer and we found it pleasant but nothing stellar. Times change. A great buy at $15 or so. Stock up! (Rating ****1/2)
