The bottle reports that this wine was “produced and bottled by ‘Proshyan Brandy Factory LLC’ Yerevan, Armenia.” With the hat-wearing, smiley-face-pomegranate painted on the bottle and the phrase “new unforgettable taste,” we were a wee bit nervous as to what we’d find in the bottle. To our delight, this pomegranate wine is quite good. It tastes of pomegranate but only mildly so, and there’s nothing cloying or saccharine about it. It closes slightly dryly. On the whole, POMMY is a pleasant wine that is lovely to sip after a meal. (Rating ****)
