Bell’s Brewery Inc. Kalamazoo Stout and Special Double Cream Stout

It has been a while since last we fell head over heels for a brewery. What was it, four years or more ago that we went gaga for Full Sail of Oregon.

Now, we might be falling again. This past summer, we raved about Bell’s Brewery’s Two-Hearted Ale. Now we’ve found two more fine Bell’s Brews. By our count, Bell’s is three for three.

Kalamazoo Stout (6% ABV) is available all year from Bell’s, and is a roasty flavored brew. Is is straightforward and pretty intense. Two bottles of this and you palate is sated. Sipping it makes me want to eat sliders. (Rating ****)

Special Double Cream Stout (6.1% ABV) is produced during the winter time. It is FABULOUS. Made from 10 malts, this beer has a viscous, creamy mouthfeel, and nicely balances both roasty and sweet notes. Mmmm… A meal unto itself. (Rating ****1/2)
