Leinenkugel Fireside Nut Brown Ale

Source: Leinie.com

Just the other day, we ran a super positive review of Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Russian Imperial Stout.

We were so excited at the quality that we decided to snatch up a six-pack of Leinie’s nut brown ale when we hit the grocery store yesterday.

Gadzooks, what an utter disappointment.  This may be the worst nut brown ale we have ever tasted. It is thin, almost watery, and the malt flavors are very weak.  The hops are hard to detect, and one’s left with little more than an unpleasant roasted flavor.  We struggled to finish just one 12 ounce bottle.

Blech—that was $9 down the drain.  Fat chance that we’ll drop any cash to try another Leinie brew.  (Rating **)

  1. These guys are idiots with no tongue. This beer is a great tasting beer. The nut and malt is easily detectable and smells great. Even better the beer has really easy to drink. A 6-pack will slide down in no time.

    Thanks for your thoughtful feedback.

Unfortunately, we don’t agree with you. We tried multiple bottles and found it a major disappointment, especially when compared to the Leinenkugel Big Eddy: http://alcoholreviews.com/wp/?p=1211 We wouldn’t recommend the Fireside Nut Brown ale to anyone. There are far better nut brown ales on the market.

  3. I think this is a great beer, and i look forward to it’s release.I have had other nut brown ales, but i like this one the best.I guess everyone has an opinion.
