10/2009 WINE: FRENCH MAID PINOT NOIR, ROMANCE CHARDONNAY-TORRONTES 2008, AND ROMANCE MALBEC PREMIUM 2005

Yee Gods, some times the beer, spirit, and wine samples come in so quickly and the tasting happens so fast that we feel we might drown. Some times, we’ve no choice but to do a review dump—we separate the review worthy from the review unworthy, then give a quick thumbs up to the former while making no mention of the latter.

So, without further ado…

(1) French Maid Pinot Noir: Pleasant plonk that sells for $7 a bottle or so. (Rating ***) Read more at http://www.FrenchMaidWines.com.

(2) Romance Torrontes-Chardonnay 2008: Bully to Romance for putting these two grapes together! The result is an apply, tropical white that was worth WAY more than the $8 or so that it costs. (Rating ****) See http://www.RomanceWines.com for further information.

(3) Romance Malbec Premium 2007. This was an effort by the folks at Romance to move the the $13 or so a bottle price point. And it worked. This Malbec is vevelty and rich, a terrific wine to quaff with steak. (Rating ****1/4) Again, see http://www.RomanceWines.com for further information.
