2/2008 PETER LEHMANN SHIRAZ BAROSSA 2005
We found this wine at Costco and paid around $13 retail for a bottle. It’s a solid Shiraz– berry-plum flavor followed by a mild mocha note. Big, fruity- this wine is made for robust fare, such as roasted vegetables, steak, etc. (Rating ***3/4)

  1. peter lehmann is good stuff but i don’t drink a lot of it since i work for hardy’s if you want rellay good stuff at a great price try the magaret river houghton cab sav 2001, (if you can find any the shiraz frankland river 2000 is divine but i can’t get my hands on the stuff apart from 2 bottles in my cellar) . just beautiful. otherwise tintara cellars (mclaren vale) shiraz 2001. email me if you’re interested. currently for me the best merlot in the country is katnook estate from the coonawarra and the best savignon blanc is from brookland valley (margaret river). to top it off the best young riesling i’ve ever had was a couple of weeks ago bay of fires 2004 (north east tasmania).
